The Fiat Uno Turbo
The Fiat Uno Turbo came into life during the mid-eighties as the manufacturer’s response to the hot hatch rule. The company decided to introduce a version with a forced induction engine, much like what Renault did, and so the Uno Turbo came into existence. The car was cleverly priced so that it can compete directly with the 205 GTi. However, the speed of the Uno Turbo alone was not enough to get a fair share of the market. The car also lacks the general elegance in its chassis which its rivals have. The power of the vehicle was increased in 1989 from its previous 105 bhp to 118 bhp, which allowed it to get some face lift.
The Uno Turbo can accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour in eight point three seconds, so you will not lag behind other types of vehicles when it comes to speed. It has a top speed of a hundred and twenty two miles per hour and a torque of one hundred eight pound per foot. With this car, you can do twenty six miles per gallon of fuel, which is quite economical. The engine is turbo-charged and has an inline four configuration. It is powered by petrol, which is delivered with a mechanical fuel injection.
The Fiat Uno Turbo has an independent front suspension that is made up with Macpherson struts and anti-roll bars. The rear suspension is also independent with an anti-roll bar and torsion beam installed. It is driven by a four wheel drive front engine and steered by a rack and pinion type of steering. Speed is manipulated by a five speed manual transmission. The car weighs around eight hundred and forty five kilograms.
The car has a length of three thousand six hundred and forty five millimeters and a width of one thousand five hundred and sixty millimeters. It comes with a height of one thousand, four hundred and twenty two millimeters with a wheelbase that has been measured at two thousand three hundred and sixty two millimeters.
With such specifications, the Uno Turbo promises its driver a sensational ride on the road with the best driving experience you will ever have. It can race along the highway or dash quickly through traffic with equal ease, making the vehicle a rocket in your pocket. Be careful with speed traps though, as this vehicle can easily make you forget about speed limits.
